Tartar Wildfire Recovery Meeting Recap

Nearly 100 people took part in the Tartar Wildfire Recovery meeting held at the Vendome in Weiser, Idaho. The event was designed to connect those affected by the fire with available resources and discussing next steps for Washington County Agriculture.

Presenters from multiple agencies spoke to the landowners and producers in attendance.

On September 24^th, nearly 100 people gathered to take part in the Tartar Wildfire Recovery meeting held at the Vendome in Weiser, Idaho. The Tartar Fire burned more than 158-thousand acres in Washington County.

The event was designed to connect those affected by the fire with available resources and discussing next steps for Washington County Agriculture.

(Braden) “Alright, we’ll go ahead and get going. Thank you very much for being here. We’d like to welcome everybody to the Tartar Wildfire Recovery Meeting tonight here in Weiser. Thank you so much for being here. We hope the word got out to as many people in the community as possible.”

Multiple presenters including local officials and representatives from both federal and state agencies spoke to the landowners and producers in attendance.

They discussed recovery assistance, programs & funding, and possible future collaborations.

After the presentations each agency had a round table to hold one-on-one conversations with attendees to address any additional questions and provide more information regarding recovery efforts and possible resources for those affected by the fire.

The evening ended with a dinner provided by the Washington County Farm Bureau that was all prepared by volunteers.
