Legislative Activities

Since 1939 the Idaho Farm Bureau Federation has understood the best legislative influence comes from the farm and ranch families communicating their needs with their elected officials. IFBF membership plays a vital role in accomplishing the organization’s legislative goals.

Each year the IFBF Board of Directors set the legislative priorities for the organization. The Governmental Affairs staff will carefully monitor all bills introduced in the state legislature and watch state and national agencies for proposed regulations that will affect agriculture. IFBF supports proposals that benefit agriculture while opposing those that do not align with IFBF’s policy.

The Governmental Affairs staff works with elected officials voicing the concerns or needs of the organization, assuring support for member families.
