Still ranching on the Rider Ranch

COEUR D'ALENE Covid-19 has changed the way farmers and ranchers do business.

But through it all, cattle still need to be fed, hay cut, crops irrigated. In Coeur d'Alene, the Rider Ranch has felt the impacts, their trail ride and catering business have dropped off to no bookings.

But their cattle operation continues, but with a new twist. People are now buying cattle from them direct, the Riders feed the red Angus cattle, get them ready for slaughter, and then the cattle are processed locally.

This is just another instance of ranchers, still ranching, but adapting to change.
