Marquee Ricks honored by Governor and Idaho Senate

The proclamation read on March 12, 2021, is as follows:

LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF IDAHO

Sixty-sixth Legislature    First Regular Session – 2021

 

 

A PROCLAMATION

COMMENDING MARQUEE RICKS FOR HER ACCOMPLISHMENT DURING THE AMERICAN FARM BUREAU FEDERATION’S NATIONAL YOUNG FARMERS AND RANCHERS 2021 DISCUSSION MEET COMPETITION.

 

We, the members of the House of Representatives and the Senate of the State of Idaho assembled in the First Regular Session of the Sixty-Sixth Idaho Legislature, do hereby proclaim:

 

WHEREAS, Marquee Ricks, a farmer from Newdale, Idaho, won the Idaho Farm Bureau Federation Discussion Meet in December 2020, qualifying her for the American Farm Bureau Federation’s Young Farmers and Ranchers National Discussion Meet competition, held virtually Jan. 10-13, 2021; and

 

WHEREAS, Marquee Ricks competed in the American Farm Bureau Federation’s Young Farmers and Ranchers Discussion Meet competition, where she competed among other young farmers and ranchers from around the United States, demonstrating superior knowledge of agriculture and a commitment to promoting the agricultural industry; and

 

WHEREAS, Marquee Ricks participated in the national Young Farmers and Ranchers Discussion Meet, which simulates a committee meeting in which active discussion, collaboration and participation are expected and participants are evaluated on their ability to constructively exchange ideas and information on predetermined topics; and

 

WHEREAS, Marquee Ricks won the national Young Farmers and Ranchers Discussion meet, finishing in first place among a field of her peers from other state Farm Bureau organizations from across the nation; and

 

WHEREAS, Marquee Ricks was presented with a 2021 Ford F-150 pick-up truck by Ford Motor Company as the grand prize for winning the national Young Farmers and Ranchers Discussion Meet competition; and

 

WHEREAS, Marquee Ricks is a positive role model for all young farmers and ranchers, FFA students and all other citizens of the importance and power of setting goals and working hard to achieve them.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED by the members of the House of Representatives and the Senate assembled in the First Regular Session of the Sixty-Sixth Idaho Legislature, that we recognize and congratulate Marquee Ricks for her superior and award-winning performances in the Idaho Farm Bureau Federation Discussion Meet, as well as in the American Farm Bureau Federation Discussion Meet, and for the pride she brings to the young farmers and ranchers of Idaho and the United States.
