AFBF Farm dog of the year finalist from Idaho
WASHINGTON--The finalist of the 2020 American Farm Bureau Farm Dog of the Year award is Cash, an Australian shepherd owned by Idaho Farm Bureau member Carol Gerken of Payette.
The American Farm Bureau Federation, with support from Nestlé Purina, recognized Cash, the winner and 3-runners up, at the AFBF’s 101st Annual Convention.
A fellow Farm Bureau member tipped Carol Gerkin about the AFBF Farm Dog of the year contest:
“I'm a member of the Farm Bureau, a friend told me about the contest and said I should enter it she knew about my dog Cash she said I should enter, that's how I found out about it,” said Gerken.
Gerken says the minute she heard about the contest she knew Cash would do well:
“I’ve always thought cash was special, partly because he bonds with me and wants to hang out with me all the time. But I raised him from a puppy and we have always had a good working relationship,” said Gerken.
