Winter wheat planting behind last year

Corn futures open with gains of 2 to 3 cents in most contracts this morning, with export news giving a boost. December Corn futures in Chicago starts at $3.74 up 3 cents.

Wheat futures open up mostly lower in the Soft Red contracts, with KC Hard Red fractionally mixed and MPLS fractionally to a penny higher. DEC CBOT Wheat opens at $5.07, down a cent.
