Idaho Farm Bureau Honors Idaho Veterans

The eighth annual “Salute to Idaho Veterans” is a free event honoring local Veterans and current Armed Services personnel. The event will take place at the Idaho Farm Bureau Building, 275 Tierra Vista Drive, Pocatello, ID on Friday, November 9th at 10:30 a.m.  All veterans are welcome to attend.

The “Salute” features a meet and greet, flag ceremony, Posting of the Colors, a guest speaker, luncheon, slide show, free portrait photos for the Veterans, and a complimentary gift. 

U.S. Army Sergeant Major (Retired) Leslie A ChapmanU.S. Army Sergeant Major (Retired) Leslie A. Chapman of Idaho Falls will be the guest speaker for the Eighth Annual Salute to Idaho Veterans. During four tours in Vietnam as a Top Secret Recon Team Leader in Laos, Cambodia, and North Vietnam, Chapman was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross, the Silver Star for Valor, five Bronze Stars, five Air Medals, four Army Commendation Medals, six Purple Hearts, and other service awards. Chapman also spent four years with the Special Forces Group in Panama, fought in the invasion of Grenada in 1983, and helped train the Contras in Honduras. He retired from the Army in 1987 after 21 years of dedicated service.
