Cody and Britney Chandler run the family farm in Weiser. Because of their love for agriculture, “my family and I have chosen to stay close to the family farm and carry on the tradition,” Cody says. With land prices as high as they are, he says, they couldn’t buy their own place but found other ways to allow them to stay on the family ranch.
“We have diversified in different enterprises but their roots are all in agriculture,” Cody says. He and his wife run 200 head of mother cows, a band of horses, a horse training business and a cow supplement dealership.“They are all related and allow us the best utilization of our time and resources,” he adds.
The Chandlers have three children, ages 5, 3, and 1. Both Cody and Britney share ranching backgrounds and both majored in beef production. When they finished college, they looked for ranching jobs before deciding to try it on their own. “It is a lifestyle and not just a job and you have to love it to do it,” Cody says.
