Idaho Sugarbeets

Idaho ranks third nationally in production of sugarbeets. Idaho growers plant approximately 200,000 acres of sugarbeets each year. The crop is refined at plants located in Paul, Twin Falls and Nampa. The plants are owned by a grower cooperative called Amalgamated Sugar Company. One of the company's brands is White Satin Sugar.

In 2006 Idaho growers planted 208,000 acres of sugarbeets. The average yield was 28 tons per acre. The average value of production exceeded $200 million.
